Casting impregnation technology is now used world-wide as a matter of course and impregnation systems can be found in all the major automotive, engineering, defence and aerospace industries.

Vacuum impregnation

Vacuum impregnation is a process that fills microporosity and small voids ensuring components don’t leak in service. It is also a potential route to salvage expensive components. Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) now specify the impregnation process as part of a belt and braces approach to eliminate any service failures.

Typical applications would include oil and water pumps, pneumatic valves, fuel systems and anywhere components need to be pressure – and leak – tight.
