In its simplest form, sand casting is the manufacture of metal objects by pouring a molten metal into a cavity imprinted into sand, using a pattern, shaped like the finished product. The process was first recorded in 3200BC in Mesopotamia, it launched the Bronze and Iron Ages and accelerated the Industrial Revolution.
