Introduction to Jurgen Van Aert, Operations Manager
Published - 24th Mar 2021
We are pleased to introduce our new Operations Manager Jurgen Van Aert, who will be responsible for production and the planning of daily operations at Haworth Castings.
Driving operational excellence
Jurgen brings a wealth of managerial experience to the business, having worked at TW Metals Ltd and Wessex Galvanisers before joining us.
“I am happy to be joining this highly successful Group,” says Jurgen. “Since I arrived in January I have been made to feel very welcome. I have started to work with a great production team to analyse key aspects of operations so that even the tiniest improvements can support an overall drive to excellence.”
Streamlining processes
Haworth Castings has ambitious plans for the business, with Jurgen spearheading an improvement plan that will implement lean principles and streamline routes for customer orders. “There is a wealth of experience within the team and we need to tap into this knowledge to help us achieve maximum throughput day in, day out,” says Jurgen.
Ultimately he believes every aspect of the site will improve in some way, as systems and tools are developed to provide incremental gains that will ultimately provide customers with an even better service.
Jurgen is already working with Health & Safety Manager Justin Brewer to keep improving safety standards, and to make supporting documentation appropriate and easier to access. From detailed analysis of workflows to looking at reducing waste at every stage of the process, this is an all-consuming job.
Jurgen has previously worked with Managing Director Lachlan Buirds and understands his approach to driving operational excellence. “Ensuring that our casting processes remain at the leading edge of modern manufacturing principles and retaining a forward-thinking outlook is high on the agenda. This will not only benefit Haworth, but more importantly our customers.”
Haworth Castings and Expromet are delighted to welcome Jurgen to the team, and look forward to his inputs and contribution both within Haworth Castings and in the wider Group.
